About

Veronica Gulezian

Choosing to seek counseling is an important decision, often mixed with feelings of vulnerability and maybe a little bit of hope.  As someone who has been on both sides of the therapist's chair, I can confidently say that counseling can provide some relief.  I try to be an open-minded, creative, and flexible counselor and strive to think, feel, and act with a balance of logic and empathy.  I hope to create a safe space for everyone I work with, so they experience healing and personal growth during therapy sessions.  I believe clients often possess more resilience and insight than they are consciously aware of, and it is an honor to collaborate with people to bring those strengths to the surface.  I am always interested in learning about the rich personal histories clients share with me.  I also have an interest in art therapies, spirituality in counseling, holistic counseling strategies, addiction recovery, trauma recovery, multicultural counseling, and personal identity development.

I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with an MA in Community Counseling from Northeastern Illinois University.  I also have a Certification in Alcohol and Other Drug Counseling from Oakton Community College, and I am trained in EMDR through the EMDRIA-approved EMDR Support Network.  I have professional counseling experience in the following settings:
